Groam House MuseumGroam House Museum, Rosemarkie

The Groam House Museum is located 15 miles (24 km) to the north of Inverness, in the Black Isle village of Rosemarkie, Highland Council Area. Dedicated to the influence the Picts had in the area, the Museum is home to 15 Pictish stones which originated in Rosemarkie and date back to the 8th century when it was an important centre of early Christianity. The George Bain collection is also housed here. George Bain (1881 - 1968) was responsible for the revival of Celtic Art and as such the collection is of national importance. Photographic archives of the village are also displayed.
