Bonnybridge

A large village in Falkirk Council area, situated on the Bonny Water and the Forth and Clyde Canal 4 miles (6.5 km) west of Falkirk, Bonnybridge developed in the 19th Century in association with a paper mill, saw mill and iron foundries. High Bonnybridge with its industrial estate lies to the south, and to the west is a sand and gravel quarry. Rough Castle, the most complete of the surviving roman forts on the Antonine Wall is nearby.
