St Fergus
Aberdeenshire

A village in the Buchan district of Aberdeenshire, St Fergus lies a mile (1.5 km) from the North Sea coast and 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Peterhead. It comprises a Kirktown to the west and a Newtown to the east and takes its name from an Irish bishop who built a basilica here in the early 8th Century. Since 1977 St Fergus has been one of the most important terminals handling gas from the Frigg field in the North Sea.
