Wester Balgedie (Meikle Balgedie)

A commuter village in Perth and Kinross, Wester Balgedie or Meikle Balgedie lies 4 miles (6 km) east of Kinross with views over Loch Leven. It is a nucleated settlement, formerly an agricultural and weaving fermetoun, that for the most part sits apart from the main road to Kinross. At a fork in the road stands the Balgedie Toll Tavern which dates from the 19th Century.
