Tankerness
OrkneyA small, scattered community of the Orkney Mainland, Tankerness lies 2 miles (3 km) southwest of Rerwick Head and 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Kirkwall. Situated within the township is the Hall of Tankerness, a 19th-century building on the site of the 12th-century drinking hall of Erling of Tankerness, while nearby lies the Loch of Tankerness.
